How GapCap helped London Lions smooth their cashflow across the basketball season.
What Do London Lions Do?
As the only professional basketball club based in the UK capital, the London Lions are at the forefront of the movement promoting UK basketball. Based at the Copper Box arena in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth’s Olympic Park, The London Lions play in the British Basketball League.
With basketball growing as a sport through the UK, sponsors were taking note. CEO Vince Macaulay was increasingly able to attract sponsorship from brands such as Supermalt and ShakeShack. However with growing player wages and expenses, cashflow was becoming increasingly difficult to manage.
GapCap were able to relieve these pressures by removing the 60-day payment terms required by the team’s leading sponsor. This allowed the Lions to invest the money in new marketing projects well ahead of schedule. It wasn’t long before the financial results were emulated on the court as the Lions went on a winning streak at the turn of the year, eventually finishing in a strong 6th position.
We actually now look at GapCap as a partner of our business, and they can help your business too.
