Funding Support

GapCap is a leading provider of SME funding. We are here to make cashflow easy for UK businesses. We’re all about helping the underdog by providing cash to scaling start-ups hindered by long payment terms. No contract, no tie-in, no problem.

We’ve financed hundreds of millions worth of invoices for businesses to date and there is no stopping us. Our ambitious plans will see us become leaders in this space and provide a genuine and affordable solution for some really interesting brands and companies.

Due to continued business growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Funding Support to assist with the management of a portfolio of clients, foster strong relationships and deeply understand their funding needs. You will be the primary point of contact for the customers of our clients, work directly with the decision makers at our clients’ and provide an integral link between the business development, risk, finance and tech teams. You’ll need to have an adaptable style to work with a mixture of business types and sizes.

It is an excellent job for the analytical mind. You’ll be working across the account

management, risk, operations and finance teams, getting stuck in to underwriting transactions, monitoring client risks and collaborating with the sales team to get funding to our clients. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable building long term commercial relationships but is also detail oriented and organised – we are fast and friendly fintech (in a laid back office!). With that in mind, you’ll be expected to contribute ideas to tech development, working closely with our tech team to constantly improve and streamline the GapCap platform and processes.

The role is by nature transactional, and requires the Funding Support to communicate with multiple clients and debtors, as well as liaising internally with teams at GapCap. There is an administrative aspect to the role, though our tech platform is designed to automate as much of the transactional process as possible.

In a fast-growing environment, it is important that all GapCappers understand flexibility and dynamism are a necessity. On a day-to-day basis, employees are asked to go outside of their job roles and pitch in to help – a ‘get your hands dirty’ attitude is crucial.

  • Assisting a portfolio of clients with their funding requirements. Building relationships with debtors and suppliers and answering client queries.
  • Credit control and monitoring of unpaid and overdue invoices.
  • Partnering with our risk team to gain a deep understanding of all transactional risks and conveying these clearly to clients. Collect and analyse financial information and make recommendations regarding clients’ facility.
  • Participating in tech development projects so that we continue to build an intelligent fintech platform.
  • Assisting the BD team with marketing events, trade shows and campaigns.
  • Learning the basics of finance and starting a formal qualification if you wish (we have staff currently doing CIMA and IAD)

  • A strong academic background
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn and work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Meticulous with high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Confident, proactive, and positive outlook
  • Team player.

  • OTE: £18-20k, depending on experience, with a clear path for quick progression
  • Quarterly bonus
  • Employee share option scheme
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • Regular tech talks, team events and support for relevant formal qualifications
